A healthy blend of fun and exercise

Workshops

Schools

There are lots of benefits that students receive from Physical Eduction at school. Regular physical activity helps students maintain good fitness levels, muscular strength, endurance and overall cardiovascular health. It’s also great for building confidence, releasing those feel good hormones and relieving stress. However, not all students enjoy PE particularly teenagers which is what I aim to change in my workshops. In recent years the curriculum is broadening and diversifying which is a great way for students to explore other avenues away from traditional team sports. I have been invited into local schools where I work with teachers and their students exploring different class formats. This aims to inspire all students by encouraging them to become more active and most importantly to look forward to doing exercise! These sessions can be tailor made to suit both primary or secondary school ages.

Disability

Not all physical activity has to be strenuous to achieve health benefits. Gentle exercise can be an essential part of a program for anyone with a physical or learning disability. The feel good hormones (Endorphins) activate receptors in the parts of the brain where they may be suppressed. Individuals who don't have any learning challenges agree that exercise helps them to focus, and the same goes for those with learning disabilities. With exercise, an improvement may also be seen in the areas of memory and decision making.

Events & socials

Each year I like to get everyone together for a seasonal social usually Spring or Summer. We then finish off the year with one of our popular party nights. These events are a great way for us all to get together properly, get dressed up and reward ourselves for all the hard work throughout the year.
